Whatever your beliefs this time of year holds much hope for something good – better even than the outgoing year. If you have time do read all of John Betjeman’s poem Christmas which starts off:

The bells of waiting Advent ring,
The Tortoise stove is lit again
And lamp oil light across the night
Has caught the streaks of winter rain
In many a stained glass window sheen
From Crimson Lake to Hooker’s Green.

He is ever hopeful it seems and that is what we have to hang on to.

Hope.

My thoughts turn to:

Light a candle, light one more,
bring your hope to winter’s door;

Hear the bells as out they chime
have hope of warmth in frosty rime;

Let your heart speak love and peace,
If we all sign up to this
Then it is within our reach;

So light your candle;
pray your prayer;
And with love we will get there.

Very best wishes – Denny Bradbury 💚
